Being two can be hard

Some days being two and a half is hard. Today has been one of those days!
Emma has been fighting a cold since Monday and although she has been a trooper all week, today she's had enough!
We had pottery today. She did have a good time, however initially was upset when Kathy the instructor suggested the kids make garden gnomes.
Emma did not want to, she wanted to make snakes. Through all the instructions she was blubbering away, all the while I was trying to calm her down so other mommies could listen.
We eventually decided to make a gnome for Grandma, which made her happy...for a second..then it was time to clean up... I'll let you decide on the ending of this story:)


We did manage a smile as the kids are allowed to play after they have made their creations.

Gabriel was awake through the class, but had a little friend to sit and gurgle at!


Gabriel has been doing so well with his cereal. We finished his rice this weekend so we have moved on to oatmeal.
He likes it just as much. It is still a messy process and I was continually getting his clothes all dirty so we went out and bought a big boy bib that just rinses off. He enjoys eating it too!

So all in all a long day. Luckily Emma and Gabriel have worked it out that when one is having a rough time, the other just does their own thing which Mommy is so grateful for.
Emma has been so patient since Gabriel's arrival and never fusses when he needs me, so today he returned the favour.
Let's hope for a happier day tomorrow!
